Here's where things stand.
Texas Rides is currently a startup concept in development. This website lets you explore proposed routes and test a working matching prototype. It does not accept bookings, payments, or ride requests.
Our planned AI would turn everyday trip descriptions into structured itineraries, forecast corridor demand, and help operators review unusual trip events. Route optimization would group compatible trips within explicit seat, luggage, timing, and detour limits. The demo here uses local rules and sample schedules; it is not connected to an AI model or live riders.
You would choose your route, departure window, seats, and luggage. Matching would propose compatible journeys and explain the tradeoffs. You would review the total price, pickup details, and additional travel time before confirming. A private ride option is part of the concept, too.
The planned service would combine appropriate driver screening and insurance with pickup confirmation, consent-based trip sharing, trip-event alerts, and human support. AI alerts would help people investigate concerns; they would not determine whether a person is safe or guarantee protection. These operating features are not active in the demo.

A focused regional pilot lets us test a specific hypothesis: travelers heading toward the same airport or city may share a ride when timing, detours, and price work for them. College Station–Houston is the proposed starting corridor. Austin and Dallas–Fort Worth would follow only if demand and operations support expansion.
